As part of the Griffith University / 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games partnership, Liveworm were asked to collaborate with the Queensland Police Service on their Project Unite initiative.
The aim of Project Unite was to detect, deter, and disrupt a range of criminal activity from minor offences to terrorism. The initiative included specialised patrols on public transport and games precincts, as well as connecting with the wider community. Liveworm were tasked with developing a visual approach that would accompany and identify this specific initiative.
In response to the brief, Liveworm developed a flexible visual system which combined hand lettered messages over distinctive colour-blocked photography. The aimed to promote inclusiveness rather than exclusivity, allowing community members to feel empowered rather than hopeless. The graphic style was designed by Angelica Kmeid and applied across Queensland leading up to and during the Commonwealth Games.
